Specifically, the bill allows ASMI to promote Alaskan mariculture products by revising the definition of "seafood" to include "aquatic farm products." This revision permits the marketing of propagated Alaskan aquatic plants and shellfish that are either native to state waters or lawfully imported under a permit issued by the Commissioner of the Department of Fish and Game.
