Senators Hughes, Wilson were excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Wielechowski, von Imhof were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Keith Bauguess, staff to Senator Gray-Jackson. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Lord God, we come before you, and desire that our lives be like an open book. Consideration of the Calendar Second Reading of Senate Resolutions SJR 9 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 9 Urging the United States Congress to exempt cruise ships from certain provisions of the Passenger Vessel Services Act and other applicable provisions of federal law for the period during which Canadian ports are closed to cruise ships carrying more than 100 people; and urging the President of the United States not to fine or take actions against cruise ships sailing to the state, was read the second time. Senator Costello, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Labor and Commerce Committee Substitute offered on page 475. Senator Begich objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, CS FOR SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 9(L&C) was adopted.
