Though we’re far from as close as two coats of paint, or as alike as two peas in a pod, it nonetheless takes two to tango, even if you have two left feet. Many of the challenges we face have solutions near at hand, only requiring that we put two and two together. But in the business of the Legislature, though we can be of two minds on a given issue, more often we’re of sixty. Nevertheless—on this Tuesday of 2/22/2022—let the spirit of two guide us to work together to avoid too many decisions that boil down to the lesser of two evils. And remember, north to the future, our motto. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Rauscher. Senator Hughes moved and asked unanimous consent that the roll call of the Senate be waived and all members be shown as present. There being no objection, it was so ordered. President Micciche appointed Representative Edgmon and Senator Stevens to escort the Senator to the joint session. 2022-02-22 House Journal Page 1919 The Senate Sergeant-at-Arms announced the Senator's entrance into the House Chamber. Senator Murkowski was escorted to the rostrum and welcomed by President Micciche. Senator Murkowski delivered her address, and it is published in Senate and House Joint Journal Supplement No. 11. A question and answer period followed the conclusion of the Senator's speech. Senator Murkowski received a standing ovation and was escorted from the Chamber by Representative Edgmon and Senator Stevens. Senator Hughes moved and asked unanimous consent that the joint session adjourn.
