Without objection, it was so ordered. Our most gracious Heavenly Father, we praise You this day for who You are, knowing that in the book of Genesis we read that You created the heavens and the earth and the stars, moon and sun, then You created us in Your Image. We are thankful for this great land that we are citizens of, because there are many places that we could be this morning that would not allow us the opportunity to meet in this fashion and have this time in prayer and conversation with You. We thank You for the group of people that came for the National Day of Prayer and what a blessing it was to be able to worship You on the steps of the State Capitol Building. We know that people are the reason we are here, and that people count, not only to this important Senate that is meeting here today, but people count to You, in the eternal matters that we look forward to. 3873 1998-05-08 Senate Journal Page 3874 Help us to make the decisions that make this day count for eternity.
