Senators Donley, Ellis, Frank, Salo were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Gordon Johnson of the Resurrection Lutheran Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Pastor Johnson led the Senate in a moment of silent observation to honor the memory of former Representative Eileen MacLean and to take time to quietly pray for her family, her community, and her brothers and sisters in the Legislature who grieve her passing. We pray today, O Lord God, for those who gather here. We pray that You will bless them for their willingness to serve You and Your people. We pray that You will bless their families who will also make a sacrifice in their separation from loved ones. We pray that You will be their ever present help in their hard moments in life.
