Lord of life and breath and all that is,

As Your creation, we come before You with much
responsibility. We are blessed with the resource of
people, yet we struggle with the reality of human
relationships, human pain and human struggle. We
live with the reality of abilities and disabilities.

Give us the ability to see our inter-connectedness
with all people. As leaders help us lead in a way
that promotes greater understanding. Help us learn
from all segments of society. Help us to be open
to what the mentally ill can teach us about
creativity, or the mentally retarded about
unconditional love, or the physically ill about
patience. Help us to learn from others and from
one another.

Guide us Lord, as individuals, senators, and
participants in the life of this great Alaska
Community to place a high priority on people as the
most important natural resource we have. Help us

can appear to be unlimited needs. May we struggle
legitimately and compassionately with the dilemma
of that reality.
