Senator Zharoff was excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Donley, Ellis, Frank, Kelly, Phillips, Torgerson were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Jon Paden of the Juneau Church of Christ. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dearest God, Thank You for wisdom. Thank You for today. Thank You for the trust placed in us, individually and collectively, by the peoples of Alaska. CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 80(FIN) was before the Senate on reconsideration. Senator Hoffman moved the following Letter of Intent: Letter of Intent for CS for SENATE BILL NO. 80 (FIN) It is the intent of the Legislature that passage of this bill will not reduce rural trooper coverage. Senator Kelly objected. Senator Donley moved the following amendment to the Letter of Intent: Delete: "rural" There being no objection, the amendment to the Letter of Intent was adopted. Senator Kelly withdrew his objection.
