Keep us, O God, in Your tender care throughout this day and grant us, O God, a sense of Your touch all along the way. 1996-06-06 House Journal Page 4698 Give each one of us a genuine spirit of cooperation, so that we can work effectively with each other. Representative Kohring: Our Gracious Heavenly Father, we humbly come before You to offer our thanks for Your help during this time of crisis in the Mat-Su Valley. We ask that You give strength and comfort to the hundreds of our friends and neighbors who've lost their homes, their businesses, and their personal possessions. We also thank You, Lord, for the compassion displayed throughout this great state and country, of people coming together to help their fellow man during this time of need. Please guide and protect the brave volunteers and personnel as they continue to battle this force of nature. Intervene to enable them to bring this serious situation under control without further destruction and hardship. Dear God, may Your mercy and peace be with all those most impacted by this tragedy, and allow us to somehow comprehend Your will in all this, as residents of the Mat-Su look to the future in rebuilding their lives and community.
