Representative B.Davis had been previously excused from a call of the House today. Representative Robinson, who had been previously excused from a call of the House today, was present. Representatives Brown, Kubina, Mulder, Therriault and Vezey were absent and their presence was noted later. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Brian Ewing of the Calvary Fellowship. Representative Parnell moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it appears below: Father God, we praise You for the kingdom in which You said righteousness dwells. God, from the dictionary we know that righteousness is simply being wise as to what is right - and in doing that, Father, we find ourselves. I find myself acting like my ducks that wander out of the yard and onto the highway and dont have the sense to come in. Father, we need the wisdom that Jesus gave - the righteousness that he showed when he went steadfastly forward. He didnt compromise or change the truth that he followed until the ultimate end, Father. Crucifixion. God, give us that kind of drive to do what is right and what is wise and pleasing in your sight, Father - so that we would benefit those around us, Lord. 1996-04-02 House Journal Page 3556 We ask this, Father, in Jesus name. He said blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. May they be filled. So give us that hunger and that thirst Lord. And fill us with Your righteousness. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Green.
