We come before You this morning asking that You would be present and live in us this day. Give us clear minds, energetic spirits, good imaginations and the use of the intelligence You've created within us. 1996-02-05 House Journal Page 2624 We acknowledge that You have created each of us unique and different. Help us to respect the differences we see in others and to allow these differences to be used collectively to move us forward for the good of the people we serve. We thank You for the time and talents shared by these representatives of the people. Help them feel the weight of responsibility upon their shoulders and undergird them with Your strength and power. Give them courage and power to act on the things that will bring goodness and health to the people of this land. Help them with matters of budget, new laws to be enacted and issues of justice. May they deal with all these areas with integrity making decisions with a good conscience. Guide this body this day in their work that they would find fulfillment in what they do and in how they do it. May they put their hearts into their work, that their work might fill their hearts. We pray all this to the One who created us and sustains us. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Williams.
