The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Representative Underwood. Representative Story moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. In deepest respect for the religious beliefs of each person here, I offer the following prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for carrying us through another legislative session. 120 days of long hours, difficult conversations, sacrifice, and service. Lord, we pause to acknowledge that above every title, every vote, and every debate, you alone are sovereign over Alaska. Today, as we prepare to adjourn, I pray a blessing over this state from the northernmost villages to every road system community, over every family, every worker, every child, every elder, and every Alaskan who calls this land home. Father, bless the work that was done in this building that truly serves the people of Alaska, and let anything not rooted in wisdom, truth, or goodness fall away. Sharpen us as leaders. Refine our motives. Give us discernment beyond politics and vision beyond ourselves. 2026-05-20 House Journal Page 2962 Lord, as we move into special session and continue conversations about the future of our state, especially around resource development and the opportunities that could unlock Alaska’s potential, I ask for divine wisdom and creative solutions from Heaven. Give us ideas no party owns. Give us unity where division has taken root. Help us steward the abundance you placed in this land with wisdom, humility, and courage. Protect this Capitol. Protect every member, staffer, aide, security guard, janitor, and employee who has served here this session. Bless my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and their families as they travel home. Bring restoration to weary minds, peace to anxious hearts, and strength to those carrying heavy burdens that few others can see. And Lord, let Alaska be blessed. Let this state rise into the purpose you have for it. May we never lose sight of the people we were sent here to serve. We thank you for your mercy, your guidance, and your grace that is new every morning. In Jesus’ name, Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Story. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Kopp moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 120th legislative day be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
