Senator Shower moved the resolution be returned to second reading for the purpose of a specific amendment, that being Amendment No. 1. Without objection, the resolution was returned to second reading. 2025-05-09 Senate Journal Page 1195 Senators Shower, Kiehl offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 2, line 26, following "program": Insert "; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature encourages the United States Congress and the President of the United States to explore opportunities to make additional federal timber resources in the state available for responsible harvest in a manner that supports rural economic revitalization, conserves habitat, and promotes forest health" Senator Shower moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Senator Kawasaki objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, Amendment No. 1 was adopted. HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 5 am S was automatically in third reading.
