The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senior Pastor Dani Cherian, Valley Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Lord Jesus, I give you praise today, for a new day to bring you glory. You have called each Senator and their staff and the men and women in this room here to accomplish your will today. I ask that you would guide their steps this morning. The Bible says, NIV 3, 1:23 [Psalms] "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake." Lord Jesus, there is no lack, when we are guided by you. You give exactly what we need. I ask that you would lead each Senator on the best pathway today, towards you. I ask that you would give them strength, energy, and wisdom to accomplish the decisions that need to be made today for our great State of Alaska. In Jesus name, Amen. 2024-05-08 Senate Journal Page 2534 Senator Hoffman led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
