The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Aaron Crook, Senate Page. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Gracious and loving God, thank you for the gift of this day. The Psalmist proclaims, 'This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118: 24) I pray that you help us find joy in this day. Help our senators know that you are with them and that you guide them. I thank you that you give us physical health and the ability to serve others. In this extended session, I pray you give energy and stamina to these public servants and their staffs. They work long hours and their schedules are demanding, so I pray that you will guard their health. Bless them with wisdom and strength to serve well. They face challenging tasks and difficult decisions, so guide and encourage them in their work. I pray that your hand of blessing and mercy be upon them. Give them the grace to listen carefully to one another, and enable them to find solutions to the complex problems before us. 2024-04-22 Senate Journal Page 2268 And dear Father in heaven, I pray that you watch over the families of these dedicated women and men.
