With the deepest respect for all people including those with differing beliefs, I invite you into a time of prayer and reflection: Father God, Your word calls your children to lift up those who have been given the power to govern over us. And so, I am greatly honored by the opportunity to lift up these leaders, their families, their staff, and their families in a prayer of blessing to you. Lord, I believe that you have knitted each of us in our mother's womb, Psalm 139 says. It says that we are fearfully 2023-03-01 House Journal Page 0292 and wonderfully made. It is evident then, that you deeply care for each person here. For this, I marvel at your lovingkindness. Lord, I believe that you desire the good of all people. So, as these leaders guide our state, I pray that you accomplish good for all Alaskans. I ask that you protect these leaders and their families from harm, sickness, pain, and loss. I ask instead, that you bless them with wisdom to lead us, hearts to love us, and good health to persevere in the great work that they are doing for this great state. Lord, above all, I give you thanks for enduring love for all people regardless of race, culture, economic status, or gender. I am grateful that you sent your son, Jesus, so that all can know you. Lord, bless these great leaders and this great state of Alaska for many generations to come. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Josephson.
