Senator von Imhof was excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Reverend Caroline Malseed, St. Brendan's Episcopal Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. O Lord our Governor, bless the leaders of our State, that we may be a people at peace among ourselves and a blessing to other states and nations of the earth. To Senators and Representatives, and those who make our laws in states, cities, and towns, give courage, wisdom, and foresight to provide for the needs of all our people, and to fulfill our obligations in the community of nations. SB 243 SENATE BILL NO. 243 "An Act relating to power cost equalization; and providing for an effective date" was read the second time. Senator Bishop, Cochair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Finance Committee Substitute offered on page 2432. Senator Begich objected, then withdrew his objection.
