Full Journal pdf2022-03-08 Senate Journal Page 1953 SENATE JOURNAL ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE THIRTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE SECOND SESSION Juneau, Alaska Tuesday March 8, 2022 Fiftieth Day Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President Micciche at 11:05 a.m. The roll showed thirteen members present. Senators Bishop, Costello, Stedman were excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Hoffman, Olson, Revak, von Imhof were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Major Gina Halverson, of The Salvation Army. Senator Stevens moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. God, thank You for the men and women who serve our country. Thank you for those in leadership who chose to serve through exhausting hours, hard conversations, weighing the needs and desires that best service their constituents and their communities. Lord, I pray for the staff members who help our leaders make their way through all that is required. I thank you for their stewardship, time and all they put in to help make our communities a better place. Continue to work in the lives of our leaders, staff members and all those who make our government run effectively and efficiently. Show them love, grace, strength, and encouragement. As our leaders work together to find solutions to difficult problems, I pray that You guide as they speak to one another respectfully and with humility. We are grateful that we have leaders that listen to us. God, please be with our government officials as they continue to weigh the pros and cons the requests before them. Father, I ask that You give our leaders and staff members courage to do what is right even when it is difficult. The following fiscal information was published today: Fiscal Note No. 1, zero, Senate Resources Committee The resolution was referred to the Rules Committee. 2022-03-08 Senate Journal Page 1958 SJR 25 Senator Stevens, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 25 Standing in solidarity with the people of Ukraine; condemning the illegal invasion of Ukraine; endorsing the sanctions and export controls directed at the Russian Federation by the United States government; urging the United States Congress and the President to consider further sanctions and actions; demanding the Russian Federation immediately stop all hostilities against Ukraine and withdraw from Ukrainian territory; and supporting the United States in urging the Russian Federation to immediately stop its assault on Ukraine, be waived from the Rules Committee for placement on the calendar. Without objection, it was so ordered. The resolution is on today's calendar. Consideration of the Calendar Second Reading of Senate Bills SB 151 SENATE BILL NO. 151 "An Act extending the termination date of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board; and providing for an effective date" was read the second time. President Micciche stated SENATE BILL NO. 151 will advance to third reading on the March 9 calendar. SB 182 SENATE BILL NO. 182 "An Act establishing the crime of interference with emergency communications" was read the second time. Senator Holland, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Judiciary Committee Substitute offered on page 1934. Senator Begich objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 182(JUD) was adopted.
