Senator Begich was excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Bishop, Hoffman, Olson, Reinbold Shower, Stedman, von Imhof, and Wielechowski were absent. Without objection, the Senate recessed at 11:00 a.m. After Recess Joint Session in the House Speaker Stutes called the House to order and in accordance with Uniform Rule 51 turned the gavel over to President Micciche, who called the Joint Session to order at 11:07 a.m. The purpose of the Joint Session was to hear an address by the Honorable Lisa Murkowski, U.S. Senator. Senator Hughes moved and asked unanimous consent the roll call of the Senate be waived and all members be shown as present. Without objection, it was so ordered. Representative Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent the roll call of the House be waived and all members be shown as present. Without objection, it was so ordered. President Micciche appointed Senator Stevens and Representative Edgmon to escort U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski to the Joint Session. The Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, Romo Marasigan, announced the Honorable Lisa Murkowski 's entrance to the House Chamber. 2022-02-22 Senate Journal Page 1864 The Honorable Lisa Murkowski was escorted to the rostrum and welcomed by President Micciche. U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski delivered her address. This address appears in Senate and House Joint Journal Supplement No. 11. Following her address, there was a question and answer period. Senator Lisa Murkowski received a standing ovation and was escorted from the chamber by Representative Edgmon and Senator Stevens. Senator Hughes moved and asked unanimous consent the Joint Session stand in adjournment.
