Senators Hoffman, Wilson were excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Bishop, Revak, von Imhof were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Reverend Michael Grubbs, Ordained Deacon, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Senator Olson moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Gracious and merciful God, we give you thanks for giving us another day. In the Senate of the People, we give you thanks for the gift of this good land on which we live. Give to us and all people a vivid sense of your presence that we may better understand each other, respect each other, do good to each other, and live with each other. May all done this day be for your greater glory and honor. Amen. Senator Costello led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Senator Hughes moved and asked unanimous consent Senators Bishop, Revak, von Imhof be excused from a call of the Senate today. Consideration of the Calendar Second Reading of House Bills HB 44 CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 44(STA) "An Act relating to the practice of accounting" was read the second time. Senator Costello, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the Labor and Commerce Senate Committee Substitute offered on page 1620. Senator Begich objected, then withdrew his objection. There being no further objection, SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 44(L&C) was adopted. President Micciche stated SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 44(L&C) will advance to third reading on the February 1 calendar.
