With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer: Heavenly Father, We're thankful for the care that you provide over the affairs of the men and women in the Thirty-second Legislature. Nothing escapes your notice, Father. You never change; you never sleep. Our world changes, and our situations change, Father, but you never do. 2022-02-17 House Journal Page 1876 It gives us great comfort to know that you always keep your word. That your promises and covenants with us are true and eternal. Help us not to be so enamored by our own talents, words, thoughts, and abilities that we fail to submit ourselves to you and your son Jesus. Colossians 3 says that we are to demonstrate compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience; bearing with one another and forgiving each other as you have forgiven us. I humbly pray that you find every one of us faithful in pursuing those qualities in our hearts and minds. Father, many things need our attention today. I ask that you grant us the wisdom of Solomon and clarity of thought to us all as we do the work of serving the needs of the people of Alaska. We need your help, Father, and we pray for it in the name of Jesus, Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Rasmussen.
