Pursuant to adjournment the House was called to order by Speaker                                                                
Stutes at 2:57 p.m.                                                                                                             
                                                                                                                                
Roll call showed 22 members present.  Representatives Merrick,                                                                  
Story, and Thompson had been excused from a call of the House                                                                   
today. Representatives Carpenter, Claman, Nelson, and Rasmussen                                                                 
were absent. Representatives Kreiss-Tomkins and Wool were absent,                                                               
and their presence was noted later.

Representative Tilton moved and asked unanimous consent that the                                                                
invocation be spread on the journal.  There being no objection, it was                                                          
so ordered.                                                                                                                     
                                                                                                                                
    With the deepest respect for all religious beliefs, I offer the                                                             
    following prayer:                                                                                                           
                                                                                                                                
    God of heaven and earth, we come before you with humility,                                                                  
    asking that you guard our hearts and guide our minds.                                                                       
                                                                                                                                
    Inspire us, God, to be truthful, just, patient, and filled with                                                             
    grace.                                                                                                                      
                                                                                                                                
    Let us not grow weary as we work but instead inspire us to                                                                  
    persevere.                                                                                                                  
                                                                                                                                
    We rest in your perfection and thank you for the opportunity                                                                
    we have as representatives for the people of Alaska to affect                                                               
    positive change.
