Full Journal pdf2020-01-31 Senate Journal Page 1613 SENATE JOURNAL ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE THIRTY-FIRST LEGISLATURE SECOND SESSION Juneau, Alaska Friday January 31, 2020 Eleventh Day Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President Giessel at 10:32 a.m. The roll showed sixteen members present. Senators Hoffman, Olson, Wilson were excused from a call of the Senate. Senator Shower was absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Reverend Nancy Campbell, White Fields Church. Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Heavenly Father, I come before Your throne and ask for Your blessing on the Senate as they begin this new legislative session. Thank you, Lord, for new beginnings, thank you, Lord for a fresh start and a new year. May the wind of Your spirit blow upon them and bring times of refreshing to them and encouragement for the season ahead. Thank you, Lord, that 2019 is past and we are stepping into a bright future for our state, the great state of Alaska. May You, Lord, lead and guide them as they navigate the coming days and work together for the good of our state. 2020-01-31 Senate Journal Page 1614 Thank you, Lord, for their willingness to serve as senators and representatives for their constituents and their districts. I pray you give them an excitement for what lies ahead and the vision to step into the new boldly. I pray for good health for each of them throughout this session. Without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Coghill, Acting Majority Leader, moved and asked unanimous consent to amend a prior excusal (page 1599) in order for Senator Wilson to be excused from a call of the Senate through evening plane time, February 11. Without objection, Senator Wilson was excused.
