The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Kayla Epstein, Congregation Sukkat Shalom. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Compassionate One, This is a week heavy for us with hard decisions to be made. Programs, services and other benefits Alaskans desperately need compete with programs, services and benefits other Alaskans desperately need. How can we rob Peter to pay Paul? What are we to do with limited funds and infinite needs? Oh Creator, we do not ask "Why was I not born with the wisdom of Solomon," so I can find the perfect answer. Instead we thank You for creating each of us to care, to accept responsibility, and to work for good as we each understand it. Bless us with wisdom, energy, and resolve as we strive to do good. Amen. Senator Stevens led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. 2019-05-07 Senate Journal Page 1048 Certification Senator Costello moved and asked unanimous consent the journal for the one hundred twelfth legislative day be approved as certified by the Secretary.
