Representatives Neuman and Shaw had been excused from a call of the House today. Representatives Carpenter, Ortiz, Rasmussen, and Tuck were absent. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Representative Tarr. Representative Story moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Dear God, Please give us the strength to face the day and to see the many blessings that it contains. Please give us the courage to walk on, no matter how long the path or how many turns or special sessions the road holds. Please inspire us to work together for the best interest of Alaskans always remembering our responsibility to take care of children, the less fortunate, and those who have cared for us, our seniors and elders. Please guide our thoughts so that we can walk in love and peace and with gratitude in our heart. Amen. 2019-06-13 House Journal Page 1204 The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Vance. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Thompson moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 28th legislative day of the first special session be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk. There being no objection, it was so ordered. COMMUNICATIONS Letters of disclosure received from the Select Committee on Legislative Ethics, as required by AS 24.60, were published in House Journal Supplement No. 4 and House and Senate Joint Journal Supplement No. 9. CONSIDERATION OF THE DAILY CALENDAR SECOND READING OF HOUSE BILLS HB 1005 The following, which was on today's calendar pending referral, was not taken up: HOUSE BILL NO. 1005 "An Act making special appropriations for the payment of permanent fund dividends; making appropriations under art. IX, sec. 17(c), Constitution of the State of Alaska, from the constitutional budget reserve fund; and providing for an effective date." ANNOUNCEMENTS With appointment of the Conference Committee on the operating budget, Rule 23(d) of the Uniform Rules is in effect as of May 6. There was objection. The question being: "Shall the House adjourn sine die?"
