I am honored to stand before you this day, and it is with respect for the various religious beliefs of each person here, I invite you to pause with me for a moment of prayer and reflection: Our Father in Heaven, I first want to thank you for your love, grace, and mercy shown to us through your son, Jesus Christ. And I thank you for the gifts, talents, and abilities you give each one of these representatives in this room to fulfill their calling as public servants in this great state of Alaska. You have raised them up for this very time and for a divine purpose to be leaders, but also to be servants representing 2019-03-18 House Journal Page 0336 their districts across this great state. With that comes great responsibility to lead, to come up with proposals to resolve the issues the people of this state face, and to make decisions for the best path to take. As we talk about budgets, about how to stretch our limited resources, Lord, we need your wisdom and help. Help each one to be good stewards of this state's resources and resolve the issues before them. Bless this state with revenues to meet the needs of people across this state for the good of all people. And help all of us across this state to be good stewards of the resources you have blessed us with in Alaska. I pray for each of these representatives, their families, and their staff. I pray that you would provide for their needs, in particular I pray for them through the struggles and challenges they are going through in their personal lives. Help them through those challenging times. Bless them and help them, I pray. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray this prayer. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Tilton.
