Representative Thompson moved and asked unanimous consent that Representative Story be excused from a call of the House today. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Kirk Elmore of Landmark Apostolic Church. Representative Shaw moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. I first want to say thank you for allowing me to be here and to pray a blessing over this session, and I submit this prayer with the deepest respect to all Alaskans: God, I offer a heartfelt prayer for these men and women here today. I ask that you bless the important work they do here, as it has great effect on every Alaskan and their families. I pray, God, that you instill in them a sense of integrity and honor that their positions require. Never let them forget the great state and whom they represent. Lord, I ask that your continual presence would be in this building long after this session and let it lead them as they consider the needs of Alaska. I ask for economic blessing and long-lasting stability for our state. Lastly God, I pray for their communities and the people who 2019-03-06 House Journal Page 0260 have sent them as their representative, their voice for their unique needs. Our state is geographically and culturally very diverse and requires a perspective that reflects this wonderful diversity and insures that every need is being represented here.
