Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President                                                             
Kelly at 10:51 a.m.                                                                                                             
                                                                                                                                
The roll showed twenty members present.                                                                                         
                                                                                                                                
The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Sister Marie Lucek, Cathedral                                                           
of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Senator Hoffman moved                                                               
and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without                                                                  
objection, it was so ordered.                                                                                                   
                                                                                                                                
          This morning, O God, I call on you to bless these                                                                     
          senators and the work they need to do. You know                                                                       
          how difficult it can be to reach decisions where there                                                                
          are such differences of opinions and ideas, and so I                                                                  
          ask:                                                                                                                  
                                                                                                                                
          May all they do today increase kindness and                                                                           
          compassion in our world. May all they do today work                                                                   
          to mend any part of our state that is broken. May all                                                                 
          they do today bring blessings on the earth. May all                                                                   
          they do today be for the good of all.                                                                                 
                                                                                                                                
          God of love, I ask these blessings for our senators
