Senator Stedman was excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Hughes, von Imhof were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Stevens. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Our Father, We pray that you will give this Senate wisdom in every decision and help us to think clearly. Grant us discernment and common sense so we will be strong and effective leaders. Help us to lead with integrity, and may that integrity guide us and keep us on track. Direct our steps according to Your Word. Without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Micciche moved and asked unanimous consent Senator von Imhof be excused from a call of the Senate today. Without objection, Senator von Imhof was excused. Messages from the House A message dated May 12 was read stating the House accepted the Senate invitation to meet in joint session at 1:00 p.m., May 16 to consider confirmation of appointments. The House extended an invitation to meet in the House Chamber.
