Senators Coghill, Egan, Gardner, Giessel, Hughes, MacKinnon, Micciche, Wielechowski, Kelly were present for the technical session. Senators Bishop, Costello, Dunleavy, von Imhof, Wilson were excused from a call of the Senate. Communications The following report is on file in the Office of the Secretary of the Senate: Department of Revenue Education Tax Credits Claimed and Contributions Reported Calendar Year 2016 in accordance with AS 43.05.010 Special Committee Reports HJR 5 The Senate Special Committee on the Arctic considered CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 5(AET) Urging the United States Congress to pass legislation to open the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas development; urging the United States Department of the Interior to recognize the private 2017-02-20 Senate Journal Page 0304 property rights of owners of land in and adjacent to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge; relating to oil and gas exploration, development, production, and royalties; and relating to renewable and alternative energy technologies, and recommended it be replaced with SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 5(ARC) Urging the United States Congress to pass legislation to open the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas development; relating to oil and gas exploration, development, production, and royalties; and relating to renewable and alternative energy technologies.
