With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer: O God, the fountain of wisdom, whose will is good and gracious, and whose law is truth: send down upon this House of Representatives of the State of Alaska the spirit of wisdom, charity, and justice; that with steadfast purpose they may faithfully serve in their offices to promote the well-being of all people. Guard their hearts in their deliberations, that barriers which divide may crumble, all suspicions disappear. As you have bound us together in this state and in this world in a common life, help these elected leaders to work together 2018-02-12 House Journal Page 2394 in mutual forbearance and respect for the benefit of your people and this land. And finally, teach our people to rely on your strength, to be good stewards of your abundance, and to accept their responsibilities to their fellow citizens and this good earth.
