Representative-elect Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. I am honored to accept the invitation of Representative Edgmon to give today's invocation. Let us reach to the God to which we each pray. Let us recognize that we embark upon another important step in the long journey of Alaskans, and of Alaskans themselves. Let us ask that God to guide us to give this new legislature the wisdom, the strength, the courage, the moral certitude, the integrity, the sense of obligation to advance the interest of the people of our state. Let us remember that there is life in everything that surrounds us. That while we may walk the earth and treat all that is upon it in ways that change it, or grow it, or remove it that ultimately we are but stewards. That the capacity of this great land, Alaska, to continue to provide for Alaskans of many generations to come is something that each living generation has a responsibility to pass forward. In these halls in particular, to remember those who gave guidance and leadership and wisdom in the past - in this Chamber, in the Senate, in the Office of the Governor - those elected by the people of Alaska to serve their interests. To provide wise, considered, deliberative leadership on their behalf such that those things that they seek in their lives in health, in education, in safety, in maintaining the beauty and the economic capacity of this land is something that each will take seriously and act upon profoundly. For those that go in harm's way to give us the opportunity to continue to live in the greatest country on the face of the earth. To live in the largest state, live to be provincial even before you God, the greatest opportunity, the best place to live, the best place to provide a future for. We pray to you and ask your guidance, your love, and your care. Amen. 2017-01-17 House Journal Page 0003 Lieutenant Governor Mallott read the following Certificate of Election: CERTIFICATE "I, Josie Bahnke, Director of the Division of Elections for the State of Alaska, do hereby certify that in accordance with the provisions of th AS 15.15.450, a General Election was held on the 8 day of November, 2016, in the State of Alaska pursuant to AS 15.15.020 and the following are the certified results for the office designated: House District 1 Scott J.
