The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Tari Stage-Harvey, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Good Lord, free us from cowardice that refuses to face new truth, from laziness content with half-truths, and from arrogance that thinks it knows all truth. When we feel puny and defeated, fill us with creativity and hope. When we feel divided and bitter, guide us with constructive conflict and cooperation. When we feel isolated and lost, open our eyes and hearts to see the bounty around us. Lead us with a spirit of joy and hope trusting in compassion as our guide and justice as our companion. Amen. 2016-03-02 Senate Journal Page 2008 Senator Micciche led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
