The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Olson. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Lord Jesus, As we've just come through the Easter season and we remember your rising from the dead on that day so long ago but still present today, I pray that the suffering that you've done will not be in vain. That the continuation of wisdom will prevail us here. We pray for the families and those family members that aren't here but are represented by the staff as well as the elected officials. Lord, as we get toward the end of the session with thoughts of going home, thoughts of being with friends in familiar surroundings, may we continue to remember that we have a job to do and that our best interest will be best satisfied by doing that, and not forget what you came down to earth for. As we get during this time, we set aside pettiness so that wisdom more easily prevails. Watch over us now and keep us all safe, especially our children and grandchildren. In Your Precious Name. Amen. 2015-04-11 Senate Journal Page 0920 Senator Bishop led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
