Senators Bishop, Dunleavy, Ellis, Hoffman, Kelly, MacKinnon, Micciche were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Beverly Smith of the Christian Science Church. Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. I would like to begin the prayer today with a verse from Psalms 119:28: Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Dear God, Open our eyes to see that your law is good. Open our eyes to see clearly the path to do your will. When we listen for your voice and follow your guidance, we can be confident that you will bless us and all Alaskans. Dear Father, We are your children. Help us to recognize your righteous government. Give us the courage to abide by your laws, and to reject any suggestions that the problems we face are too big and too complicated to be solved. 2015-01-26 Senate Journal Page 0076 We acknowledge that you are infinite ever-present, omnipotent divine Love. You know our needs. Give us the humility to put aside any personal agenda, be still, and listen for your perfect solution that will bless us all.
