With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer. Almighty God, creator of all we see and feel, maker of all life, and giver of great love to every person. We come before you today with grateful hearts, to be able to serve the people of our state, for the strength of body and heart. We look to you for guidance in clarity of mind and wisdom of heart. We honor those who have gone before us and have left us a good heritage, those who sacrifice to serve in our armed services, and those who keep us safe at home. 2016-04-18 House Journal Page 2532 Help us to work diligently as if it may be our last day on earth. I ask you to bless us with grace and love today. As we start the work of today, help us to clear our minds and hearts from anxiety, fear, or ill will, so we can, with your peace, do the business of the day for the people we serve. I pray this in his name. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Herron.
