Gracious and loving God, as I pray for the Alaska State Legislature this morning, I think of the words of the Psalmist when he spoke of your great love for us. He wrote, "O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; you understand my thought afar off…You have hedged me behind and before. And laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it." (Psalm 139) 2016-03-18 House Journal Page 1856 O God, you who invite us to call you Father, bless these good and faithful servants of Alaska with a real sense that you love them and are for them. Because you are for them, Lord, I pray you will bless them with grace and good humor, that you will bless them with insight and creative minds, that you will bless them boldness to act, that you will bless them with wisdom to know when to show restraint, that you bless them with satisfaction in their work, and that you bless them with friendship and care for one another. Dear Lord, the legislative session is moving along and there is still much to do. So I pray that you will give these servants strength and fortitude for the days ahead. And as the Psalmist proclaimed, help them to be encouraged by the knowledge that you know them and are always with them. I pray these things in the name of my Lord, Jesus. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Ortiz. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Millett moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 58th and 59th legislative days, House Journal Supplement No. 4, and House and Senate Joint Journal Supplement No. 15 be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
