The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Tari Stage-Harvey of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. I offer up this prayer on behalf of all those who walk the way of Jesus this weekend. As I begin this season of Passover, I also remember all those who have traveled from oppression into freedom. On this holy day, I lift up those who continue to suffer at the hands of power. I lift up our brothers and sisters in Syria. I lift up our brothers and sisters in Iraq and Afghanistan. On this day, as I raise the cross, I grieve for all who know its weight upon their shoulders. For those who have lost someone they love, for those struggling with illness of mind or body, for those who are burdened by debt or hunger. May we be bold enough to see and name the deadening blow of power, greed, and fear in our world. Living God, set all of our eyes on a new way of being. A way of grace. A way of freedom. A way of love that knows no bounds. Amen. Senator Wagoner led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. 2012-04-06 Senate Journal Page 2072 Certification Senator Meyer moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the seventy-ninth and eightieth legislative days be approved as certified by the Secretary.
