Full Journal pdf2012-03-07 Senate Journal Page 1769 SENATE JOURNAL ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE TWENTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE SECOND SESSION Juneau, Alaska Wednesday March 7, 2012 Fifty-first Day Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President Stevens at 10:11 a.m. The Senate was convened for the purpose of a technical session. Senator Meyer moved and asked unanimous consent that the roll call of the Senate be waived. Without objection, it was so ordered. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Reverend Sarah Schurr of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Juneau and Fairbanks. Senator French led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Messages from the House Message dated March 6 was read stating pursuant to AS 24.60.130, the House has ratified the following reappointments of two public members to the Select Committee on Legislative Ethics: Dennis "Skip" Cook Herman G. Walker, Jr. 2012-03-07 Senate Journal Page 1770 Standing Committee Reports SB 130 A Finance Committee memo dated March 7 was received correcting the March 5 committee report for SENATE BILL NO. 130 "An Act establishing in the Office of the Governor an advisory council for the preservation, restoration, and revitalization of Alaska Native languages" (page 1733) as follows: Remove Fiscal Note No. 1, Office of the Governor SB 198 The State Affairs Committee considered SENATE BILL NO. 198 "An Act establishing procedures relating to issuance, suspension, or revocation of certification of police officers by the police standards council; making certain court service officers subject to certification by the police standards council; making confidential certain information that personally identifies a police officer; relating to requesting or requiring police officers to submit to lie detector tests; repealing a provision exempting certain police officers from a prohibition against requiring certain employees to submit to lie detector tests; and providing for an effective date" and recommended it be replaced with CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 198(STA) "An Act establishing procedures relating to issuance, suspension, or revocation of certification of police officers by the Alaska Police Standards Council; making confidential certain information that personally identifies a police officer; relating to requesting or requiring police officers or applicants for employment as peace officers to submit to lie detector tests; and providing for an effective date."
