Senators Dyson, Giessel, McGuire, Menard, Meyer were excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Huggins. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Our most precious heavenly Father, we thank thee for bringing us here today. We ask thee to bless our actions, we ask you to help us take action. And Father, we look around the world, we look at our country in particular. We go to the southeast and look at Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and see the devastation by Mother Nature: your force, your hands. We ask thee further to deliver us from our transgressions. Father, we're just human. We make mistakes; you help us with those mistakes. You died on the cross for us. Many years ago you rose; we celebrate Easter. Father, we look further to Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and other places; for some reason we're there. We ask you to bless those young men and women that are serving on behalf of our country. And Father, further we just ask you to show us the light, the way to deliver thy message, deliver life, in your spirit. Amen.
