Pursuant to adjournment the House was called to order by Speaker                                                                
Chenault at 11:01 a.m.                                                                                                          
                                                                                                                                
Roll call showed 36 members present.  Representatives Gara,                                                                     
Gruenberg, Holmes, and Johansen were absent and their presence was                                                              
noted later.                                                                                                                    
                                                                                                                                
The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Steve Evenson of                                                             
the Seventh-day Adventist Churches of Juneau and Sitka.                                                                         
Representative P. Wilson moved and asked unanimous consent that                                                                 
the invocation be spread on the journal.  There being no objection, it                                                          
was so ordered.                                                                                                                 
                                                                                                                                
    O Heavenly Father:                                                                                                          
                                                                                                                                
    Today I come before you asking for your guidance for the                                                                    
    representatives of the people of the great state of Alaska.  I                                                              
    ask that you would bless the people in this meeting today.                                                                  
    Pour out your grace upon this assembly that wisdom may                                                                      
    abound in these halls.                                                                                                      
                                                                                                                                
    Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains                                                                    
    understanding; for her proceeds are better than the profits of                                                              
    silver, and her gain than fine gold.  She is more precious than                                                             
    rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with                                                               
    her.  Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand                                                                 
    riches and honor.  Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all
