With the deepest respect for the religious traditions of all Alaskans, I offer this prayer: Almighty and Everlasting God, the only who is all-mighty and ever-lasting. Bless with your presence, we pray, these servants of the people of Alaska. Give them, we pray, a sense of their duty which includes wisdom of their strengths and of their limitations. Bless them with a sense of urgency to accomplish what they may and the peace of knowing what they cannot. May there be for those who can, O Lord, a greater trust in your love for each of them and in that trust a greater sense of your power to work your purpose both through and in spite of 2011-05-12 House Journal Page 1232 what we do today. For the part we can play in the work of shaping the life of this great land, we are thankful. For the part we do not need to play, we are also thankful. Amen.
