Senator Kookesh was excused from a call of the Senate. Senator Wagoner was absent. Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that Senator Wagoner be excused from a call of the Senate today. Without objection, Senator Wagoner was excused. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Joe Mishler of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Heavenly Father, This morning as we stand in Your presence, I pray the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, would be acceptable in thy sight, 0 Lord, my strength, my redeemer. May this be each one's desire present today, that they would start this day asking, "Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?" Lord, I pray the men and women here would not only seek to possess knowledge of facts, but also the wisdom which comes only from You. Guide them to boldly act upon what they know to be right. When You commanded Your servant Joshua to be strong and very courageous, it 2010-03-18 Senate Journal Page 1878 was not because he was afraid of the enemy. It was because You knew it would take courage and endurance for him to lead the people according to Your will. I pray these men and women would be strong and very courageous in Your eyes. May they prove all things; hold fast that which is good, and abstain from all appearance of evil. Please, Lord, provide for the health and safety of these assembled here and their families. While some may have personal, private struggles which we know nothing about, You know our very thoughts. I pray You would provide for their needs, comfort their hearts, and in doing so, draw them to Yourself. And Lord, no prayer for man, who is created in Your image, would be complete without praying for their spirit and soul as well. As You know, my heart's desire and prayer is for each precious soul here to have a personal relationship with You. My prayer is that each one here would know my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Savior also. May all that is accomplished in this place this day glorify You. In the Lord Jesus Christ's precious name I pray, Amen. Senator Huggins led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the fifty-eighth legislative day be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered.
