Senator Kookesh was excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Dyson. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Heavenly Father, We are grateful for your grace to our nation, our state, to us as a people and to us as individuals. We ask your blessing on every family that is represented here, every extended family, on our state. We ask you to superintend our actions here that we might bring glory to you, serve faithfully the people who have given us this privilege of representing them. Messages from the House Message dated March 15 was read stating: The House of Representatives respectfully invites the Senate to a Joint Session of the Twenty-Sixth Alaska Legislature at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 9 for the purpose of confirmation of the Governor's appointees. Consideration of the Calendar Second Reading of Senate Bills SB 270 SENATE BILL NO. 270 "An Act relating to the dividend paid to the state by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation; and providing for an effective date" was read the second time. Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that the bill be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading and placed on final passage. Without objection, it was so ordered.
