The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Patrick Brayton of Valley Chapel. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son, to pray for the wellbeing of those who work in these chambers for the betterment of the people of Alaska. I thank you for them, and for the sacrifices they and their families are willing to make for the good of our state. Please give them your great wisdom so they may always arrive at those decisions that are truly best for all of us. Where there are differences, give them the humility and grace to find common ground solutions. May they yield to one another when it is appropriate and may they stand resolute when the principles of true righteousness are at stake. Let us all be truly blessed by their courage, integrity and leadership. Guard and keep them by your grace as we move together into this new decade. May your peace abound to them and to all who live under their authority. Amen. 2010-02-01 Senate Journal Page 1364 Senator Wielechowski led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
