Senators Dyson, French, Kookesh, Meyer were excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Huggins, McGuire were absent. The seat from District B was vacant. Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that Senators Huggins, McGuire be excused from a call of the Senate today. Without objection, Senators Huggins, McGuire were excused. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Saralyn Tabachnick of the Congregation Sukkat Shalom. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear God, please guide us and open our hearts so that we are able to listen with compassion and understanding, to speak calmly and with kindness. Guide us to look not for right and wrong but rather to identify what is needed and appropriate.
