Wilson. MESSAGES FROM THE SENATE HJR 53 A message dated April 7, 2010, was read stating the Senate passed: HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 53 Urging the United States Congress to pass H.R. 1034, designating the Honor and Remember Flag as an official symbol to recognize and honor members of the armed forces of the United States who died in the line of duty. HJR 53 was referred to the Chief Clerk for enrollment. HB 262 A message dated April 7, 2010, was read stating the Senate passed: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 262(TRA) "An Act establishing the month of May as Motorcycle and Motor Scooter Awareness Month." CSHB 262(TRA) was referred to the Chief Clerk for enrollment. 2010-04-08 House Journal Page 2092 HB 300 A message dated April 7, 2010, was read stating the Senate failed to recede from its amendment to: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 300(FIN) "An Act making appropriations for the operating and loan program expenses of state government, for certain programs, and to capitalize funds; and providing for an effective date." namely: SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 300(FIN) am S (same title) The President appointed the following members to a Conference Committee to meet with a like committee from the House to consider the bills: Senator Hoffman, Chair Senator Stedman Senator Thomas The House members of the Conference Committee are Representatives Hawker (Chair), Stoltze, and Gara (page 2029). HB 302 A message dated April 7, 2010, was read stating the Senate failed to recede from its amendment to: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 302(FIN) "An Act making appropriations for the operating and capital expenses of the state's integrated comprehensive mental health program; and providing for an effective date." namely: SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 302(FIN) (same title) 2010-04-08 House Journal Page 2093 The President appointed the following members to a Conference Committee to meet with a like committee from the House to consider the bills: Senator Hoffman, Chair Senator Stedman Senator Thomas The House members of the Conference Committee are Representatives Hawker (Chair), Stoltze, and Gara (page 2031). COMMUNICATIONS The following was received: Dept. of Administration Office of the Commissioner Monetary Terms of Agreement Between the State and the Alaska Public Employees Association, Representing the Confidential Bargaining Unit April 6, 2010 (as required by AS 23.40.215) The Speaker referred the monetary terms to the Finance Committee. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES The Health & Social Services Committee reviewed the qualifications of the following and recommends the appointment be forwarded to a joint session for consideration: Dr. William W. Resinger as a member of the State Medical Board. The report was signed by Representatives Keller and Herron, Co- chairs; and Representatives Holmes, Seaton, Lynn, and Cissna. The request was signed by Representatives Hawker (Chair), Stoltze, Gara; and Senators Hoffman (Chair), Stedman, Thomas. The Speaker granted the limited powers of free conference as requested. The Chief Clerk notified the Senate. HB 302 The Conference Committee considering: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 302(FIN) "An Act making appropriations for the operating and capital expenses of the state's integrated comprehensive mental health program; and providing for an effective date." and SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 302(FIN) (same title) requests limited powers of free conference on the appropriations and language that are not identical in the House and Senate versions of HB 302. The Chief Clerk notified the Senate. 2010-04-08 House Journal Page 2096 UNFINISHED BUSINESS HB 10 Representative Petersen added his name as cosponsor to: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 10(FIN) "An Act authorizing a borough to charge a city for costs of collecting certain taxes; relating to a mandatory exemption from municipal property taxes for residences of certain widows or widowers, and to optional exemptions from municipal property taxes for property of certain fraternal organizations, for certain college property, and for certain residential property; and providing for an effective date." HB 126 Representatives Herron and Dahlstrom added their names as cosponsors to: HOUSE BILL NO. 126 "An Act relating to continuing the secondary public education of a homeless student; relating to the purpose of certain laws as they relate to children; relating to tuition waivers, loans, and medical assistance for a child placed in out-of-home care by the state; relating to foster care; relating to children in need of aid; relating to foster care transition to independent living; and relating to juvenile programs and institutions." HB 392 Representative Gara added his name as cosponsor to: HOUSE BILL NO. 392 "An Act establishing a loan repayment program and employment incentive program for certain health care professionals employed in the state; and providing for an effective date."
