As the sun sets this evening, Jews around the world will begin the week long observance of Passover, the ancient story of the exodus from Egypt, the freedom from bondage, and the beginning of a new life. In the ancient tradition we tell the story not just of our ancestors but of how we ourselves were freed and began anew. We hold this in our minds as these leaders present here today representing all Alaskans weigh matters of state. With deep respect for the beliefs of all Alaskans, I invite you to pray. Baruch atah Adonai, eloheinu melekh ha-olam, pokayach ivrim. Blessed are You, Eternal God, who guides all the world, and who opens the eyes of the blind. Baruch atah Adonai, eloheinu melekh ha-olam, zokaif kefufim. 2010-03-29 House Journal Page 1918 Blessed is the Eternal God, maker of the universe, who lifts up the fallen.
