Heavenly Father, I stand before you an imperfect person, humbled by your generosity with gratitude for the gifts you bless each one of us with every day. Thank you for laughter, for it lightens the load in times of great stress. Thank you for those who serve our country both past and present in our military; thank you for those who serve the public - our police, firefighters, local and state employees. Thank you for the perspectives, experiences and work history that is represented on this floor today. Thank you for the friends and families who support us. 2009-04-18 House Journal Page 1082 Father, let us keep in mind that we never truly know the burdens or responsibilities that others carry or the unique challenges each of us face. Help us encourage others and support each other in joyful and difficult times. In these closing days of this legislative session, provide us the wisdom to understand the intended and unintended consequences of our actions. Give us strength and clarity of thought, patience to listen and hear thoughtful arguments. Father, help us to rise above the issues and challenges and do what is best for Alaskans.
