Our Father in Heaven, as we gather here today as a body of people dedicated in service to the public, we remember the great words of President Lincoln who, at a very momentous occasion, spoke that the world will little nor long remember what we do here, but how we do it is important. And as we sing this song we offer these words to each other in a spirit of cooperation and to you, Lord. "Waste Not a Day" (by David Stancliff) Our days on earth, but grains of sand, Tumbling down the glass of time. Not what we take, but what we leave, That will linger down the line. 2009-04-15 House Journal Page 0978 Will it be love's compassion? Forgiveness so sublime? That marks us in the book of life, Deep within the grand design? Chorus: For all who place their faith in you, Rise up to light the way. For all who seek hope anew, Give breath to each new day. For as we judge one another, So to our lot shall be. Give all your burdens to the One, Who said "Come Follow Me." (Chorus) Meet every day with simple joy, Seize each moment in the sun. May we forgive one another, As our Lord for us has done. (Chorus) The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Ramras.
