The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, the Reverend George Silides of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Representative Wilson moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. With respect for the religious traditions of all Alaskans, I offer this prayer: For all the many blessings of our lives, we thank you, O Lord: for the beauty of this day, for the power of our minds, for the trust of our fellow citizens to represent them fairly and diligently, for seasons of hard work and the season of rest, for the hope of tomorrow that spurs the effort of today, for aged wisdom and youthful exuberance, for the rain and the shadows and the darkness which make the sun and the light and the warmth of another's embrace so divine and delicious, for our families - present, absent, and watching over us from beyond the limits of this earthly life. Upon these servants of the state, O Lord, pour thy abundant blessing. As the days of this session dwindle down to a precious few, lessen any anxiety with the longer view to add their efforts to labors begun long years before them and 2009-04-13 House Journal Page 0920 causes that are theirs to begin well, but not to finish yet. For all those who can join me in this prayer across our state, we give you thanks, O Lord, for the service of this body, for the families who have given them to us for a time, and for their safe return to loved ones and homes. May their summer be rich with a harvest of every bounty this Great Land can give. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Kerttula. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Johansen moved and asked unanimous consent that the ndrd journal for the 82 and 83 legislative days be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
